It is designed to measure the hardened depth of steel materials without destroying them.
It can display the difference of welding, hardness, quality and hardening clearly
by catching the change of internal composition of metals with 4-needle sensor.
Once steel material is tempered, it will be hardened and ectrical resistivity will be risen slightly.
For instance, general steels applied for surface hardening have 1.2 to 1.5 times as high as ones
without tempering.

Figure Studying 「Relation between hardened depth and electric resistance」, the deeper the hardened depth
becomes, the more the electric resistance increases.In short, it means that it is easily to estimate
the hardened depth by analyzing the electrical resistivity on the surface of the steel materials.
Making use of this principle and measures, This equipment can measure the hardened depth prisicely.
Measuring time takes only 0.5 sec. !! Even scrap steels by cutting inspection can be transformed into
commercial products.
It is designed to measure the diameter of spot welding without destroying them.
It can compute nugget diameter electrically by touching the sensor to the welded part to see
if it is welded or not. To put it concretely, DC potential difference method is used.
Generally speaking, 「Electric resistance R is in proportion to the length L of conductor and out
propotion to the section area S」(Formula 1) is realized between peculiar electrical resistivity
and electric resistance for materials. Applying this formula to spot welding, when analyzing
spot welding by potential difference measurement, electric resistance R only for welded area decreases
and the diameter of nugget is measured easily which shows analyzing spot welding is practical.

Easy measument without media for QC of factories.
It is designed to find out iron balls left in casting alminum parts after shot blast.
This machine is composed conveyor, magnetizer with permanent magnet, detector with sensors to find out
iron balls and conveyor to carry out parts after sorting out OK and NG.

From the drawing, aluminum can not be magnetized even magnet gets close to it. However, once aminum and
ferro magnetic materials such as iron are put together, ferro magnetic materils are magnetised and
magnetism is generated even after keeping magnet away from them. This equipment makes use of this
characteristics so that checking whether sensor detects magnetism of the inspecting parts or not and
thus find out iron balls. once iron balls or magnetic change is detected, Judgement becomes NG.
And megnetism generated from the magnetizer is so small that it is easily affcted by outside magnetism.
So magnetic shield is used for magnetizer to avoid it. It is quite reliable for detecting iron balls.
